Only the shallow know themselves. God knows; I won't be an Oxford don anyhow. I'll be a poet, a writer, a dramatist. Somehow or other I'll be famous, and if not famous, I'll be notorious. Or perhaps I'll lead the life of pleasure for a time and then—who knows?—rest and do nothing. What does Plato say is the highest end that man can attain here below? To sit down and contemplate the good. Perhaps that will be the end of me too.

Contest!

It’s time for some Fan art. There will be different categories, choose yours and have fun.

  • Hipster Oscar Wilde: I bet you have seen all those hipstersomething blogs here on Tumblr; well, this is what this cathegory is about. Choose your favorite quote and paste it on a hipster pic, the funnier, the better.
  • Poster boy: Design a poster that includes a quote and/or a picture of Oscar. The design has to be entirely original.
  • Regina, talk to me!: Post a pic of something Oscar-related with a fitting Mean Girls quote; but don’t stick only to Wilde pictures, draw characters form any tale or play and change their lines, be creative!
  • Wildefication: This works the other way around. Paste quotes from any of Oscar’s works into a screen cap of your favorite show or movie. Make it funny! (Lord Henry and Algernon quotes are perfect for this).
  • The Wilde one: Write a little real life anectdote that has something to do with Oscar Wilde, either funny or inspirational.
